About
Susan Wadia-Ells is the director of Know Breast Cancer, a national non-profit organization she founded in 2007. Susan began know Breast Cancer because she got mad when so many of her friends and acquaintances were getting diagnosed with breast cancer.
“I am interested in translating the international research on breast cancer prevention into easy- to- understand terms, ideas and even products we can buy, use or give to friends.
I also continue to look at the economics and politics of breast cancer in the United States and wonder if we are dealing with a profitable but unnecessary epidemic.
Meanwhile, I continue to be upset to see that multi-million dollar national breast cancer organizations are not funding research that can help us understand the links between the environment and prescription drugs and breast cancer.”
In an effort to spread the word about real breast cancer prevention, Susan has researched all the available information about breast cancer prevention and condensed it into 7 Easy Ways to prevent breast cancer. Her goal is to educate women about real breast cancer prevention through her 7 easy ways and the Know Breast Cancer website.
Susan has an undergraduate degree in political science from Hood College, a graduate degree in energy economics and political development from The Fletcher School (Tufts University) and a PhD in Women’s Studies from the Union Institute and University. Her diverse education allows her to look at epidemics and other nasty events from a political and economic perspective.
